V2V Architecture Lead for Internet Gateway and Voice Services Transition

I was the lead architect responsible for the successful transition of BHP IGW and Voice services between IBM and OBS during IBM’s managed services exit.

Specifically I was responsible for seamless transition of IBM services, whether contracted or not. This included understanding all aspects of the ‘actual’ service being supplied and the new incumbent supplier’s (OBS’s), service description and model. I was responsible for gap and risk identification, communication and solution to the vendors and BHP.

I was the technical lead and escalation point for the IBM’s network and voice architects, transition program/project managers and to support the impacted applications and infrastructure support teams.

I was required to and responsible for:
•    Technical sign-off of all knowledge transfer documentation;
•    Assisting with knowledge transfer workshops;
•    Service gap analysis;
•    IBM application and service integration testing;
(and in one case identifying and supplying the remedial DHTML code), and
•    Technical planning for service transition cut-overs.
